On my honor I claim this photo to be legit. What could this be?
While doing the typical 'tourist thing' near Page, Arizona, my wife & I visited the stunningly beautiful and unique Antelope Canyon located on the Navajo Indian Nation there. It is divided into two parts, Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon slot canyons. These canyons have been formed by raging flash floods that have carved psychedelic-like patterns into the walls that get illuminated by the sun beaming in from above at midday. The Navajo name for Lower Antelope Canyon is Hasdeztwazi, or "spiral rock arches." Its counter part is called Tse bighanilini, which means "the place where water runs through rocks."
This unexplained figure was originally overlooked and just noticed from pics taken over a year ago in the Upper Antelope Canyon. This figure was not a person with our tour group. Care was taken not to have any of our beautiful photos spoiled and/or photobombed by another person's presence as we trailed all others in the streambed, insuring no one was around and especially behind us in the direction this photo capture was directed. You will note what appears to be a head with the light coming down from approximately 120 feet above highlighting the protrusion of a nose. The right shoulder of the figure is also noticeable. On the figure's left side you can see the sharp edges of the rock. The figure appears to be peering around from behind the protruding rock. Also note the appearance of an arm with a hand lower down in the photo. The photo EXIF details show this as an original photo and indicates the GPS location where the photo was taken as Latitude 36;51;45 and Longitude 111;22;29 which will indicate "Antelope Canyon."
Antelope Canyon is the product of millions of years of water erosion. In 1997, a 12-person party was caught in a sudden flash flood that killed 11 members. Two of the bodies were never recovered. There have been other prior deaths as well.
There are Navajo stories of ancestral spirits occupying the canyon as well and the area is considered to be a sacred place.
QUESTION: doesn't it always seem that shadow persons, apparitions, etc. offer only fleeting glances of their presence, almost as if to be hiding from the experiencer and prohibited from breaking some unknown-to-us cosmic rule?
